Findings written for people who have to publish tonight
Quote the sentence. Link the briefing. Do not upgrade a correlation into a law of nature.
How a finding is allowed to travel
Social networks are a vehicle, not a peer review. The order is method, then a sentence a newsroom can steal, then a clip. If the clip cannot hold the limit, it does not ship.
01
The finding has to survive a method
A chart of search spikes is not a paper. Calibration against surveys, a coded SERP sample, and a sentence about what we will not claim — then it may travel. Google Flu Trends travelled first and died of overclaim.
02
Researchers and newsrooms, then social
Pickup that changes a platform or a city starts as a briefing other scientists can replicate and a journalist can quote at 16:00. Social clips are the third copy of that sentence, not the first laboratory. A reel that skips the limit line is not dissemination. It is a new rumour with our logo.
03
The win is a changed default, not a quote tweet
Other people picking it up is useful when they are a search engineer, a health ministry, a newsroom, or a lab that reruns the audit in another language. Influencers can carry the sentence if they carry the limit. Follower count is not an outcome. A help panel that was not there last year is.
Articles others can rank, cite, and share
English is the source. A stealable sentence when we want a newsroom. Russian is a door, not a twin catalogue. No symptom listicles.
Three kinds of article, not a blog
Original observatory
A SERP audit, a calibrated query index, a program evaluation. This is how other people cite us as a source: a method they can rerun, a table, a dated English URL. Russian is a door for filings and companions, not a second original of the same briefing.
Share the figure and the limit in the same post. Never the figure alone.
Expert synthesis
Not a rewrite of a textbook. A take/leave line on a real paper, signed. Google already ranks PubMed. We rank if we add a sentence nobody else was willing to write — including what the paper does not prove.
Share the take/leave pair. A hot take without the leave-line is not our voice.
Newsroom briefing
One quotable sentence, a help link if the topic can harm, a method in four lines. Written so a journalist can steal it at 16:00. That theft is the SEO: backlinks from people who had to publish tonight.
Put ‘steal this sentence’ on the page. License: name us, keep the limit.
How the page is built so others want it
- English is the citable original. Canonical and suggested citation use the unprefixed English URL. Russian, when it exists, is a human door — not a machine twin, and not a second observatory that must match page for page.
- Title is the finding, not ‘What is loneliness?’. The searcher who already knows the word wants the claim.
- Stable URL, date, author or institute, suggested citation. Academics will not cite a scroll of cards. They will cite a paragraph with a year.
- Open by default. No paywall on briefings. CC BY for the sentence: others may copy if they name NOOS and keep the limit. That is how you become the source.
- We do not publish listicles of symptoms to harvest traffic from panic. That traffic is not authority. It is a waiting room we made worse.
Status · Violence
Untreated trauma and the temperature of a city
Quotable line
“Violence is not only a policing problem. Where traumatic stress is dense and care is thin, aggression recycles through households and streets. Programs that treat only the last punch miss the loop.”
Status · Addiction
Alcohol dependence moves through networks, not through weak will
Quotable line
“The unit of intervention is often the cluster, not the isolated drinker. Companions and circles that sit inside the person's week outperform pamphlets.”
Status · Isolation
Loneliness is a public-health number, not a personality flaw
Quotable line
“Cities and platforms that optimize for attention can accidentally optimize for isolation. Measuring loneliness like air quality changes what governments are willing to fund.”
Quotable line
“A hiring tool that cannot show its validation file is a rumor with a login. NOOS will sell diagnostics only when the file exists and the candidate can see the kind of score being produced.”
Status · Media
How a headline can widen or narrow a suicide cluster
Quotable line
“The press is a partner, not an enemy. A quotable scientific sentence plus a help link outperforms both silence and spectacle.”
Status · Search
The search page is weather, not a census of the soul
Quotable line
“The high-leverage object is the page the person sees at 1 a.m., not the national ‘mood score’. A country whose crisis queries return a help panel is a different country from one that returns a thread. Query spikes without a survey underneath are weather talk. Partnership with engines — higher access, honest intercepts — is the scientific path. Scraping for a viral chart is not.”
Status · Moral psychology
Empathy without a budget: when care for one group harms another
Quotable line
“The popular phrase 'suicidal empathy' is not a diagnosis. The underlying pattern is: unbounded identification plus no accounting. The scientific task is to keep compassion and still count.”
Status · Moral psychology
When ‘death is bad’ stops looking like a value and starts looking like physics
Quotable line
“When a prior would win a vote in any room — death is bad, more years are better, grief must be heavy — it stops looking like a value and starts looking like physics. Then it prices drugs, stretches dying, and charges guilt to people who could not stop a body. Surplus empathy and trauma appear where mortality could have been named as a fact, not a scandal. Naming the tilt is not a wish that people stop mourning.”
